For maximum trolling you need something people already expect to be fast, just not that fast. It should also be something you almost never see with an engine swap to avoid suspicion. It should be something people will whine about keeping 'pure' or original. Lastly it should be something utterly fantastic, yet incredibly douchey just to drive home the jealousy-laced hatred and confusion.

Build it and they will rage.

I agree that for the the highest output of rage, you have to swap it into something that is already valued by many. So my suggestion is a F40. Ferrari fans are particularly against engine swaps. So this would really set the internet on fire.
